Taman Melawati Condo Guide 2026 — Hillside Living Without LRT

Taman Melawati is the hillside township in Hulu Kelang that KL keeps discovering: Melawati Mall anchoring daily life, Bukit Tabur’s quartz ridge framing the views, and MPAJ administration under a 53100 Kuala Lumpur postcode despite sitting in Selangor.
Our archive grew from two buildings to four this year. The catch is structural and honest: there is no walkable LRT, and every guide here omits rail walk times until routes can be verified. Life runs on MRR2, DUKE, AKLEH and increasingly the SUKE/SPE highways.

Transit: Read This Before Anything Else
No LRT station serves Taman Melawati directly. Wangsa Maju and Sri Rampai sit roughly 1.8 to 1.9 kilometres from the established residences - technically listed in older sources, realistically a drive-and-park relationship. Our Serini and Saville records carry the verified distances with explicit not-really-walkable notes; the newer entries omit rail claims entirely rather than guess.
What works instead:
- MRR2 along the township’s spine toward Ampang or Gombak
- DUKE and AKLEH for cross-city runs
- SUKE and SPE (newer openings) shortening southern commutes
- Melawati Mall at the centre for everything else
Buyers who commute daily by rail should treat this corridor honestly as a drive-first decision.
The Buildings
Serini Melawati — the established landmark
Sime Darby’s twin-tower freehold residence: 528 units across 38 storeys, layouts from 633 to 1,494 sq ft, completed April 2018 about 300 metres from Melawati Mall. Corner units with wide balconies face the Klang Gates quartz ridge on one side and the city on the other. The most established high-rise address in the township.
Saville @ Melawati — the practical MKH option
MKH’s 2013 mixed development: 408 units in two 23-storey blocks above retail, 901 to 1,253 sq ft standard layouts. Older finish grade than Serini, correspondingly gentler entry pricing when units surface. Facilities cover the family basics - pool, gym, playground, hall.
Upperville — the boutique newcomer
Mitraland’s leasehold condominium on Jalan Melawati 7B beside the award-winning 16 Quartz: 176 units handed over in December 2022, roughly a year ahead of schedule. Low density at 176 units, hillside elevation among the highest in the area, layouts from about 1,050 sq ft. Storey counts conflict across references (16 versus 24) - disclosed in our record rather than resolved.
Park One @ Melawati — the sold-out question mark
Sime Darby’s newest tower in the KL East masterplan: 234 freehold units, 1,027-1,202 sq ft three-to-four-bedroom layouts, 50 metres from Melawati Mall, GreenRE Silver certified. The developer reports it fully sold out. What nobody has published is a completion date we can verify - secondary registries disagree (2025 versus Q4 2026), so our record states availability without asserting handover. Buyers reselling or renting here should confirm CCC status directly.
Who Is Taman Melawati For?
Nature-adjacent families who want Bukit Tabur hiking, Zoo Negara minutes away and mall convenience without KLCC prices - the freehold Sime Darby and MKH stock anchors this case.
Drive-first buyers with DUKE/AKLEH/MRR2 commutes who value hillside air over rail minutes.
Not ideal for: LRT-dependent renters and anyone whose weekly life requires rail. The honest trade-off of this postcode is that the train was never built here.
